It has been a busy week here at the Highland Arts Theatre. Aside from putting on four plays and a concert, we also had the most amazing opportunity presented to us. As many of you know, Allan Ryan has been in our downtown for the last few weeks painting a mural for the Waterfront District. After some consultation, he offered to paint a mural for us to further beautify our downtown and act as a beacon for our theatre. It was an opportunity we couldn’t miss, but also couldn’t plan. We had to act now, in order to take advantage of him being in town! Unfortunately, that means we didn’t have the time to properly fundraise. As a not-for-profit, we’re going to need to backfill this money so as to not place undo burden on our operation.
So we’re announcing the launch of “100 Squared,” our attempt to get 100 people or businesses to donate $100 to help with the cost of this project. If you are a business or an individual who wants to help the HAT grow and downtown Sydney revitalize, please consider donating. For $100, we will include your name on a plaque that will be placed at the base of the mural for the duration of its life. We will also place a sign in our lobby for one year thanking our donors for their generous help, and we will add a “Mural Donations” tab to our website where your names will kept for the life of the mural.
If you want to be a part of “100 Squared,” or you’d just like to donate the cost of your daily coffee to the cause, please contact us at (902) 565-3637, visit our office at 40 Bentinck St, or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
You can now make donations online, but please fill in the following information:
