CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS: HIGHLAND ARTS THEATRE AUDITIONS - CABARET
AUDITION CALL FOR MALE, FEMALE & NON-BINARY SINGER/ACTORS & DANCERS Ages 18 & Up
This January, we will be hosting Live and Video Auditions for anyone wishing to be considered for our upcoming production of CABARET, directed by Ron Jenkins with Choreography by Cynthia Vokey and Music Direction by Chuck Homewood.
Set in 1929–1930 Berlin during the waning days of the Weimar Republic as the Nazis are ascending to power, the musical focuses on the hedonistic nightlife at the seedy Kit Kat Klub, and revolves around American writer Clifford Bradshaw's relations with English cabaret performer Sally Bowles. Strong actors, singers, and dancers are required.

PLEASE NOTE: Due to the current wave of COVID-19, all auditions requested will be provided material to submit by Video only.

April 19 to 24, 2022
It is our hope to be able to continue live performances, however, we should note that pending provincial restrictions, all potential productions remain tentative. All actors submitting must be prepared to show proof of full vaccination and may be asked to commit to regular COVID tests if hired for this production.
All activities will be pending provincial health protocols and will be strictly regulated by our own COVID-19 procedures plan, based on national and provincial recommendations.

AUDITION DATES: January 15, 2021 from 1:00PM - 7:00PM (Performers may be asked to return for a dance audition or callback on Jan. 16)

IN YOUR SUBMISSION PLEASE INCLUDE:
1) Recent photo (professional quality not necessary)
2) Theatrical Resumé (if applicable - no experience required)
3) What role you would like to be considered for.
4) Whether you prefer in-person or video.

Upon submission, you will be sent the song excerpt chosen for your character of choice. You may be given a second song to prepare as well. Songs do not need to be memorized, but the more prepared you are the better. Please plan to be available on January 16 for a dance audition and callbacks as necessary.
