CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS: HIGHLAND ARTS THEATRE AUDITIONS - INTO THE WOODS (IN CONCERT)
AUDITION CALL FOR MALE, FEMALE & NON-BINARY SINGER/ACTORS & DANCERS Ages 14 & Up (Non-Equity Only)
This spring, we will be hosting Video Auditions for anyone wishing to be considered for our upcoming production of INTO THE WOODS (In Concert), directed by Wesley J. Colford with Music Direction by Barbara Stetter.
This fractured faerie tale combines the stories of Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Jack and the Beanstalk, and more in a complex and darkly humourous world of broken promises, witches curses, and wishes that do come true (whether you want them to or not).
Dedicated to the late, great Stephen Sondheim who died in November 2021.
CONTENT WARNING: This show contains some mild depictions of violence and sexuality.
PERFORMANCE DATES:
July 5 to 10, 2022
It is our hope to be able to continue live performances, however, we should note that pending provincial restrictions, all potential productions remain tentative.
All activities will be pending provincial health protocols and will be strictly regulated by our own COVID-19 procedures plan, based on national and provincial recommendations.
At this time we will be receiving only video auditions for this production. Please see below for full submission details.
NOTE: All interested parties must submit in advance of this date in order to receive audition materials. You will be asked to learn and record a sample of at least one song from the show.

IN YOUR SUBMISSION PLEASE INCLUDE:
1) Recent photo (professional quality not necessary)
2) Theatrical Resumé (if applicable - no experience required)
3) What role you would like to be considered for.

*Additional Roles will be cast from the auditions for these principal characters.
Upon submission, you will be sent the song excerpt chosen for your character of choice. You may be given a second song to prepare as well. Songs do not need to be memorized, but the more prepared you are the better.
